History
Talon Transport was founded in Cheltenham in 2001 by eric Mason who has
been involved in all aspects of the domestic & commercial removal
business since 1972.
eric started off in the industry by joining Batty's Transport Of Hendon,
North London as a furniture porter. After a few years, his HGV licence
was taken through the company & another ten years of service saw
eric moving clients nearly all over the UK.
In 1983, eric joined the John Lewis Group at their removal & storage
headquarters in Kings Cross, London
After John Lewis ceased to operate in removals, eric went on to join
Stefan Rose, TA/ Studio Host who were the main contracter to the London
Auction Houses. This was to be a main part of training in the safe handling
of antiques & fine art. Specialising in the dismantling of long-case
clocks, grand piano's & specialised wrapping of paintings.
A great part of this work also involved export preparation & shipping.
