Mixie Walsh Benefit Night
A benefit in aid of Eric Mason's long standing friend, Mixie Walsh was held at the One Eleven Club (inside Bordwalk) opposite Central Pier, Blackpool on the 28th February 2007. Mixie Walsh has led a very colourful life over the years, keeping Blackpool's night-spots free of trouble& respected by some of the country's top gangsters, including the Kray Firm. The Show The One Eleven Club Blackpool was perfectly suited to host the night, large enough for the many people who attended but also everyone was able to renew old acquaintances and still see the show. The managers and staff of the club are to be complimented on making it a great night.
The night started off with the Compere Ricky Lane reminding everyone of why they were there and reminding everyone that the entertainers were giving there time free of charge. The show opened with the wonderful talent that is Leanne Fury, related Billy Fury. Definitely a real talent and a voice to that was a perfect compliment to the great songs she entertained us with.
Next the "International Fantasy Show Girls" well I was so impressed by those lovely ladies I almost drank my own beer for a change. It was worth the ticket price just to see them I am sure.
Leah Faith followed the girls with a collection of great songs which were well received by the audience. An auction by Lionel Vinyl of a pair of signed Ricky Hatton gloves raised over £600.
The charm and class of Joe Longthorne and his band shown through the night, absolutely brilliant entertainment. As always his relaxed style on stage made for the right mood and a thoroughly entertaining set.
The evening finished with another set from the "International
Fantasy Show Girls" followed by a great set of songs from Chris
Farrell with his great jazz style and sound. For all the photographs from the night click ...Here All Site Content © Copyright 2010 |
