The opening of
the newly refurbished "Cotswold" public
house in Portland Street, Cheltenham.

By 8 o'clock, the main bar was virtually full to capacity with
still more people coming in. Smokestak kicked off the launch
night with a few "unplugged" style
of rock & blues standards, opening with Clapton's "Layla". As the
night progressed, so did the music, with Billy Robinson now on bass guitar to
punch up the tempo & style with numbers such as "Cocaine" & Crossroads
and more recent covers such as Robert Cray's "Phone Booth". The band
were well received & have adopted a new following from the regulars
that were using the pub prior to the refit.

Thanks go out to "Farsie", the landlord, who has continued on putting
live music on.... Next stop for Smokestak, is The Cavern, Cheltenham, 21st
April 2007.
